The Event Sports Massage Team (ESMT) is sponsored by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Our purpose is to create an educational forum on sports massage for our members, athletes, other health professionals, and for people who are concerned about health and physical fitness. We do this by providing sports massage at athletic events throughout Colorado and creating opportunities for continuing education and professional networking. By setting standards of excellence in the theory and practice of sports massage, we are offering services that substantially benefit our clients while promoting the profession of massage.

UPCOMING EVENTS
dot Elephant Rock Ride, Sunday, June 1, Castle Rock. We will set up at 9:00 a.m. and work until approximately 5:00-6:00 p.m.
dot MS150, Saturday, June 28 in Ft. Collins at CSU and Sunday, June 29 in Westminster at the Broomfield Events Center.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
To be reimbursed for massage done at events, applicants must:
  
dot Be a graduate of a massage school with a minimum of 500 hours training
dot Meet the educational requirement of a minimum of 28 hours of sports massage training
dot Carry liability insurance through AMTA, ABMP or other insurance carrier
dot Pay the initial registration fee of $40 to cover team polo shirt, nametag, accounting and registration expenses, equipment and supply costs, and Team Manual. Renewal dues are currently $25 per year after the first year.
dot Attend the mandatory Skills Calibration course provided by the Team. This must be updated every 2 years to keep up with changing techniques and to offer continuity in standards of practice.
